Privacy Policy

IQScore (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website at iqscore.io (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

We keep this policy short and plain. If you have questions, email us at support@iqscore.io.

1. Information we collect

a) Test data (stored locally on your device)

When you take the IQ test, your answers and session state are stored in your browser’s localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you make a purchase. It is not sent to our servers during the free test.

b) Session identifiers (Supabase)

When you complete the test, a random session ID and your score data (IQ score, domain scores, answer record) are saved to our database (Supabase) so that anything you purchase — the IQScore Pack (certificate, report and answer explanations) — can be delivered and retrieved. No name, email address, or personally identifying information is stored alongside the score data.

c) Payment information (Stripe)

If you make the optional purchase (the $6.99 IQScore Pack), payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe may collect your card details, billing address, email address, and IP address in accordance with their own privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation that payment was successful and a session reference.

d) Usage and log data

Our hosting provider (Netlify) and web infrastructure automatically collect standard server log data, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security and operational purposes and is not used to identify individual users.

e) Cookies and advertising

We do not currently display advertising on this Site, and we do not set advertising cookies. If we introduce advertising, we will update this policy to name the provider and describe the cookies it uses before any ads are served.

We do use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used. It sets cookies that tell one visit apart from another, and records things like the pages you viewed, your approximate location by country, and your device type. It is not linked to your test answers or to any payment. You can read how Google handles this data in Google’s privacy policy.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate and deliver your IQ score and any paid products
  • Process and verify payments via Stripe
  • Maintain and improve the Site
  • Detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent activity
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not send marketing emails. We do not build advertising profiles from your test data.

4. Data retention

Test session data (score, domain breakdown, answers) stored in Supabase is retained for 12 months to allow report retrieval. After that period, session data is deleted. Browser localStorage data persists on your device until you clear it — this is under your control.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (European Union), UK GDPR, or CCPA (California) including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Because the only data we associate with a specific person is the payment record via Stripe (which Stripe controls), most requests should be directed to Stripe directly.

6. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@iqscore.io.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
